Chicken Pakoda | చికెన్ పకోడి


Chicken Pakoda (చికెన్ పకోడి) - Chicken Pakoda or Pakora is a popular Indian deep fried appetizer that is delicious to eat at any time. 😋

Try this yummy chicken pakoda and enjoy your special days. 😍💜




INGREDIENTS:

For MARINATION:

Chicken: 1/2 Kg ( Cleaned)
Turmeric Powder: 1/4tsp
Red Chili powder: 2tsp
Ginger Garlic Paste: 2tsp
Garam Masala: 1tsp               
Coriander (Dhaniya) Powder: 2tsp
Oil: 2tbsp
Green Chilis: 4-5
Curry Leaves: 1tbsp chopped
Coriander Leaves: 2tbsp chopped
Corn flour: 3-4tbsp
Gram Flour: 1tbsp (Optional)
Salt to taste

Oil: 2 cups for Deep frying

For GARNISHING:

Cashew Nuts: 1/4cup
Curry Leaves: 10-20leaves
Green Chilis: 3-5

METHOD:

1. Clean chicken and take it to a mixing bowl. Here I took boneless chicken. 


2. Add 1/4tsp of Turmeric powder. If you have cleaned chicken with turmeric already then, you can skip this step.


3. Add Red chili powder. If you are a spicy lover, add a tsp more to give spiciness to your tastebuds.


4. Add salt to taste. Here, I added 1/2tsp of salt.


5. Add Coriander (Dhaniya) Powder. You can also add freshly prepared dhaniya powder. For this, roast Coriander Seeds in a pan on low flame until a nice aroma comes and keep aside to cool. Grind it to make a fine powder. Store this powder in an airtight container and use it whenever needed.

Here, I took the Everest Coriander powder.


6. Add Garam Masala. 


7. Add chopped curry leaves. This gives the chicken a nice aroma.


8. Add finely chopped coriander leaves.


9. Add sliced green chilis. You can add 2-3 more chilis to increase spicy.


10. Mix well.

11. Add oil & Ginger garlic paste.



12. Mix well.



13. Add corn flour. If you want to include besan as well then reduce a tbsp of corn flour and add a tbsp of Gram flour (Besan). In this recipe, I didn't add Besan.


14. Add Lemon Juice and mix well.


15. Marinate the chicken for atleast 30mins.


16. Take a pan and heat oil for deep frying. Add chicken pieces one by one into oil.



17. Fry chicken pieces on medium flame until they turn to golden brown. Don't fry the pieces on low flame as chicken pieces gets too hard and also not in high flame, because chicken looks cook outside but, inside it will be raw. So, be careful while frying the chicken pieces.


18. Once Chicken pieces are well fried, take them out to a serving plate.


19. You can turn off the flame and in the same hot oil, add cashew nuts and fry for a minute or until the color starts changing. Once fried, take them out and add it to Chicken pakoda.


20. Fry few curry leaves and add them to Chicken pakoda.


18. Fry 3-5 green chilis in the same oil and add it to chicken pakoda as a garnishing.


21. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot. Spicy chicken pakoda is ready to enjoy.
