BENDI GRAVY


INGREDIENTS:
Okra (Bendi): 250gms
Onions: 2
Tomatoes :2
Mustard Seeds: 1/2tsp
Urad dal: 1/2tsp
Green Chilis: 2
Red Chilis: 2
Curry Leaves
Turmeric Powder
Red chili powder
Salt
Sugar /Jaggery: to taste
Tamarind: lemon size or tamarind paste: 1tsp
Corn flour: 1tsp(optional)
Oil: 1tbsp

METHOD:
  1. Cut okra into 1- 11/2-inch pieces.
  2. Now, heat oil in a pan and fry mustard seeds, urad dal, fenugreek seeds, red chilis, curry leaves.
  3. Now, add Onions and green chilis and fry until the onions turned to brown.
  4. Now, add okra pieces, turmeric powder and salt and fry for some time.
  5. Now, add tomato pieces, red chili powder and cook for some time.
  6. Now, add tamarind juice or paste and also add some water.
  7. Also add sugar or jaggery to taste. Check salt and sour taste. 
  8. When cooking is almost over then, add corn flour mixed with little bit water. And cook until gravy is thickened.
  9. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice.
