INGREDIENTS:
Okra (Bendi): 250gms
Onions: 2
Tomatoes :2
Mustard Seeds: 1/2tsp
Urad dal: 1/2tsp
Green Chilis: 2
Red Chilis: 2
Curry Leaves
Turmeric Powder
Red chili powder
Salt
Sugar /Jaggery: to taste
Tamarind: lemon size or tamarind paste: 1tsp
Corn flour: 1tsp(optional)
Oil: 1tbsp
METHOD:
- Cut okra into 1- 11/2-inch pieces.
- Now, heat oil in a pan and fry mustard seeds, urad dal, fenugreek seeds, red chilis, curry leaves.
- Now, add Onions and green chilis and fry until the onions turned to brown.
- Now, add okra pieces, turmeric powder and salt and fry for some time.
- Now, add tomato pieces, red chili powder and cook for some time.
- Now, add tamarind juice or paste and also add some water.
- Also add sugar or jaggery to taste. Check salt and sour taste.
- When cooking is almost over then, add corn flour mixed with little bit water. And cook until gravy is thickened.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice.
