DAL WITH GONGURA (SORREL LEAVES)


INGREDIENTS:
Sorrel leaves bunches: 4
Dal: 150gms
Onions: 1
Green Chilis: 4
Red Chilis: 2
Mustard Seeds: 1tsp
Urad dal: 1tsp
Jeera: 1tsp
Garlic: 4cloves
Curry Leaves
Turmeric Powder
Red chili powder
Salt
Oil
METHOD:
  1. Boil sorrel leaves / gongura along with 2 green chilies, jeera and salt. and keep aside.
  2. Now, make sorrel leaves paste.
  3. Now, boil dal in pressure cooker up to 3whistles.
  4. Now, mix dal and sorrel leaves paste. Check sour taste while adding sorrel leaves paste to dal.
  5. Now, heat oil in a pan and fry mustard seeds, urad dal, red chilis, curry leaves, garlic and chopped onions.
  6. Now, add turmeric powder, red chili powder and mix well.
  7. Now, add dal mix and some water and mix well and cook for some time.
  8. Garnish with coriander leaves.
  9. Serve hot with rice.
