KITCHURI ( Bengal)

INGREDIENTS:  

Rice: 1cup 
Moong dal: 1/2cup 
Red dal: 1/2cup 
Ghee: 1tbsp 
Red chilis: 2
Onion: 1 
Ginger: small piece 
Sugar: 1/2tsp 
Turmeric: 1tsp 
Cardamom/Elaichi: 6 
Bay leaf: 1 Cinnamon: inch piece 
Salt 

METHOD:
  1. Soak rice, red dal and moong dal in water for 1/2 an hour.
  2. After that drain the water and let them to dry.
  3. Take a pan or cooker and heat ghee or oil.
  4. Now fry elaichi (seeds only) and now add onion pieces, red chili powder, grated ginger.
  5. After fried some time, add rice, moong dal, red dal and fry for 5 mins.
  6. Now add sufficient water, salt, turmeric and cook it for one whistle.
